The lifesaving education and outreach services provided by Save Lives Sonoma (SLS) continue to have a positive impact on this community thanks to the generous gifts provided by donors who are committed to our mission: to have 100 percent of Sonoma County residents trained in hands-only CPR, and to increase awareness of the importance of bystander CPR.
Your Gift is Important
More than 300,000 Americans die from heart disease each year. If this number isn’t alarming enough; as many as half of these people die suddenly due to cardiac arrest. When someone suffers from cardiac arrest there is only a few short minutes to act before brain damage, organ damage or even death occurs. Compression only CPR performed by a bystander can help to make sure that the victim has a chance to recover, giving medical personnel precious time to save a life.
Giving to Save Lives Sonoma can literally mean the difference between life and death. So many families in this community either have a loved one, or know of someone, who suffered from cardiac arrest and we all know how scary that kind of an emergency situation can be. SLS has an incredible potential to improve the outcome for countless people suffering from cardiac arrest and to impact families and the community in compelling ways.
Contributions from supporters, friends and grateful survivors make it possible for Save Lives Sonoma to continue with projects, community education and outreach aimed at educating potential bystanders about the merits of compression-only CPR, thereby reducing the numbers of untimely deaths by sudden cardiac arrest in our community.
